An entrepreneur driven by passion

Corso 281 carries the spirit and soul of its owner Natalino Gisonna, an unconventional entrepreneur who runs his hotel as a passion, not as a business. Unlike many hoteliers, for Natalino Corso 281 is not simply a financial asset, it is his second home, or perhaps more truthfully, it is his real home.

Natalino is present every day, from breakfast until guests return in the evening, always with the same smile and warmth as one who is welcoming friends, not clients. His discreet yet constant presence, can be felt in every corner of Corso 281, and is reflected in the careful attention to detail as well as in the friendly, authentic atmosphere of the hotel.

Every choice, from the design of the suites to the selection of the staff stems from Natalino’s personal taste, and from a concept of hospitality that has formed throughout the years, guided more from the heart than from calculation.

Natalino is the embodiment of hospitality with a human touch, not improvised or delegated but lived wholeheartedly. The guests that stay at Corso 281 are not simply staying at a luxury hotel, they are stepping into a real-life story that has been built on Natalino’s passion, dedication and deep sense of family pride.

Transforming a bank into a home for our friends

The building which now houses Corso 281 used to be a bank and owner Natalino Gisonna once had an account there. On each visit he would discover more of its maze of halls and corridors, catching glimpses of hidden corners and gazing out of windows with fabulous views. Gradually he fell in love with the building and dreamt of one day of owning it.

A dream that became reality

The elegant 18th century Palazzo takes up a whole block of Via del Corso, the main street that runs through central Rome, its stately exterior masking an interior of rooms and staircases that Natalino set about transforming into a 5 star luxury hotel. It was a slow process, involving careful research, hard work and long days and nights. Natalino spent time talking to architects, engineers and industry professionals in order to understand not only the specific challenges of his hotel, but learning all he could about hospitality in general.

Time and dedication saw Natalino bring his vision to life. He lives and breathes the hotel, and knows every inch of the building and its workings. Now he wants his guests to share his passion and fall in love with Corso 281 just as he has.
