Corso 281 is a family-owned business which combines the service and comfort of a luxury hotel with genuine Italian kindness and hospitality. Coming from southern Italy where hospitality and warmth abound, Natalino Gisonna wants every guest to be welcomed like family and treated as a friend, to feel that they are staying in a home rather than a hotel.
This concept is reflected in the communal spaces of the hotel where guests can meet, swap stories, discover new cultures and make new friends. Everyone who stays with us at Corso 281 becomes part of the family, and is always welcome to return.
For owner Natalino, the role of a hotelier does not just mean running a luxury hotel, it means living every day with all of the people that make hospitality possible, creating a strong tie that goes beyond simply job titles and responsibilities. The soul of Corso 281 is rooted family, not just because it is a family-run business, but because the concept of family extends to include every single member of staff.
Everyday discussions among staff at the hotel are not only about the guests, they also talk about their children going to school, planning a vacation, a must-see concert or a wedding proposal. These personal stories of the team are just as important as those of our guests, because at Corso 281 every single person is seen, listened to and supported. It is Natalino’s unique philosophy of hospitality that creates true bonds among the people of Corso 281 and transforms the hotel into a special place, not just for those who stay there, but also for those who work there.
With its abundance of monuments, history and architecture, Rome can be an overwhelming city for visitors, and this intensity of beauty and energy can cause a sensory overload. For this reason Natalino Gisonna decided that his hotel should be a place of sanctuary and tranquility, where guests can escape the noise and commotion outside.
Working with an architect to create calming spaces with clean lines, Natalino chose a neutral colour palette, dominated by black and white, to provide a welcome visual relief and calm atmosphere that envelopes you as soon as you walk through the front door.
